Available now is this Gibson USA Custom Shop Les Paul Special Doublecut, 1960 reissue or “R0”, finished in the best colour for these in my opinion, TV yellow. This guitar was handbuilt and bought new in the USA by the original owner and has only been lightly used at home since. One owner from new, and from a pet+smoke free home.
Spec wise, you get a solid 1-Piece Mahogany slab body paired with a solid mahogany neck with the 1960 slim taper profile, which makes it very playable both up and down the neck. The finish is VOS nitrocellulose over TV yellow which ages really nicely and this one is only getting better! You get an Indian Rosewood fretboard which is nice and dark, and the setup on this guitar is superb.
The guitar has been upgraded and converted to humbuckers instead of the original soapbar P90s and it sounds all the better for it, you get a bare knuckle PG blues humbucker in the neck and a Seymour Duncan in the bridge. The PG Blues humbucker is designed to replicate the tones of Peter Green's famous '59 Les Paul (hence the name!) and it sounds really really good, just give the demos online a listen and you’ll be sold on it too!
Condition wise, the guitar is excellent, a tiny bit of finish checking is just starting to show around the top of one of the horns but apart from that it’s all very clean, and the checking is cool anyway! Please view the photos for the exact condition as they form an essential part of the condition report. The guitar has been professionally setup by our in-house techs so it plays as good as it looks! Comes complete with original hard case and all papers/extras as shown in photos.
