Available now is this beautiful 2021 Gibson Les Paul Standard ‘60s, finished in the gorgeous colour “Unburst”. The unburst finish was actually created following an accident by Gibson, where a natural, chemical aging process took place leaving bright red, aniline-based dye used on 1958–1960 Les Pauls to fade away completely. This fading left only the yellow or amber base coat.
This guitar was made in the Nashville factory in mid December of 2021 and has only had one owner from new. To note, there is some scratches on the back side of the guitar but hey are purely cosmetic and has no effect on playability! This guitar is part of the Gibson Original Collection, designed to replicate the feel, and sound of the early 1960s Les Pauls from Gibson’s golden era, and this one does a very good job.
Spec wise, you get a solid mahogany body with an AA Figured Maple top which is absolutely outstanding, and sparkles and moves in the light. It has the ‘60s slim taper neck profile which many people say is the best profile gibson offers and I can see why - it plays really fast but feels good and present in your hand too. It also has a really nice dark rosewood fretboard, almost as dark as custom shops, and 22 medium jumbo frets, 1.695” nut width.
It is equipped with Gibson USA 1961 replica burstbuckers (61R in the neck, 61T in the bridge), and these sound great, providing a warm and pleasing bite and great distortion when overdriven. They sound a lot more vintage-correct like original PAFs than the 490R/T you get in other Les Pauls, grover tuners and nickel hardware complete the premium look and feel.
This guitar has been set up with ernie ball 10 gauge strings and plays well with low action and no buzz. It also comes with the original hard case and all gibson case candy from new as pictured.This guitar is perfect for aspiring guitarists to seasoned professionals who are looking for a lovely instrument!
